SAP E-Book

To be able to make a digital signature in an application, you must first make some settings.

The digital signature is in the Basis component SSF (Secure Store and Forward) in the SAP system. Make the following settings:

  • The SSF digital signature settings.
These settings depend upon which signature method you use (see Define Signature Strategies).
  • The complete name of the signatory, and his time zone.
The name of the signatory, and his local time are put in the signed document.

Caution

Users can maintain their address data and constants under System → User Data → Own Data. This data includes the general user settings and the user SSF settings, so if you use the digital signature, not all users should have authorization to maintain their own data.

If you use the user signature method, you need an external security product, which is connected to your SAP system with SSF.

The personal security environment (PSE) of the user must not be in the file system, it should be, e.g. on a Smartcard. The software PSE does not fulfil the official requirements of a digital signature.

The SSF settings for the system signature are in the standard delivery.
