This setup activity activates automatic notification in the issue management of SAP Solution Manager, which sends a change e-mail to the related recipient when attributes are changed.

You can configure to notify processor or status change. The processor and status attributes are checked by default.

You can configure requester, creator or processor to receive the notification. Only processor is recipient by default.

SAPconnect is configured for the SMTP service in the system.

The e-mail address of the processor is determined from the system user, so the e-mail addresses of the system users should be maintained in transaction SU01. If not, the e-mail address of the processor is determined from its business partner, so the e-mail addresses of business partners must be specified in transaction BP.

If no e-mail address can be determined from the business partner, the message can be sent to a default address. Specify it with the following values in the table DSWPGLOBALCUSTOM:

  • Field: DSWP_NOTIF_DEFAULT_EMAIL
  • Contents:
  • Accept value for recipients: PROCESSOR; REQUESTER; CREATOR.
  • Accept value for attributes: PROCESSOR; STATUS.

Change the recipients when attributes change:

Add new entry for each transaction type as follows:

  1. In transaction SM30, enter the table AGS_ESD_CONFIG.
  2. Create a new table entry.
  3. Select Issue Management.
  4. Enter the parameter name for each transaction type:
  • Transaction type SLFI: ZSLFI_EMAIL_AUTONOTIFY

  • Transaction type SLFT: ZSLFT_EMAIL_AUTONOTIFY

  • Transaction type TASK: ZTASK_EMAIL_AUTONOTIFY

  1. Set the PROCESSOR, REQUESTER, and CREATOR values in the fields for the transaction type.
  2. Save.

Change the attributes for notification:

Add new entry for each transaction type as follows:

  1. In transaction SM30, enter table AGS_ESD_CONFIG.
  2. Create a new table entry.
  3. Select Issue Management.
  4. Enter the parameter name for each transaction type:
  • Transaction type SLFI: ZSLFI_ EMAIL_NOTIFY_ATTR

  • Transaction type SLFT: ZSLFT_ EMAIL_NOTIFY_ATTR

  • Transaction type TASK: ZTASK_ EMAIL_NOTIFY_ATTR

  1. Define PROCESSOR and STATUS values in the fields for the transaction type.
  2. Save.
