This section provides you with the configuration steps needed to monitor a TREX system up to Release 7.0 in the central monitoring system (CEN). The CCMS agent SAPCCMSR transfers the monitoring data of the TREX system to the CEN.

For a detailed description of the setup, see Monitoring TREX with CCMS. This document is attached to SAP Note 897226.

When you installed TREX, the system entered a CCMS agent in the TREX start profile. This agent has already been started automatically with a standalone option. If you use the standalone option, the agent runs in such a way that the TREX tree is displayed in your local SAP management console; you can only communicate with the central CCMS system after registration.

Registration under UNIX

  1. Log on to the TREX host as a root user.
  2. Switch to the directory /usr/sap//TRX; this is your TREX installation directory .
  3. Set the environment variables required by TREX by executing the following command for the relevant Unix shell:
  • In Bourne shell (sh), Bourne-again shell (bash) and Korn shell (ksh): .TREXSettings.sh

  • In C shell (csh): source TREXSettings.csh

  1. Switch to the directory /exe. Stop the CCMS agent by entering the following order:
sapccmsr pf= -j2ee -standalone –stop
The instance profile of your TREX installation has the following path:
/usr/sap//SYS/profile/_TRX_
  1. Register the CCMS agent with the following order to the CEN:
sapccmsr pf= -j2ee –R
  1. Enter the connection data for the CEN as entered in the start file CSMCONF that you created in the CEN (see Create Start File CSMCONF for CCMS Agent).
  2. If the name of the system group is retrieved, in the central monitoring system assign the TREX system as the monitored system of the system group TREX_Systems with the SAP system ID :
[optional] monitored system belongs to system group: TREX_Systems
  1. Call the TREX start profile; the start profile has the following path:
/usr/sap//SYS/profile/START_TRX_
  1. In the TREX start profile, change the call for the CCMS agent. Delete the parameter -standalone, so that the following remains:
sapccmsr pf= -j2ee -DCCMS

Registration under Windows

RESET N1

  1. Log on to the TREX host as an administrator.
  2. Switch to the directory :\usr\sap\\TRX; this is your TREX installation directory .
  3. Set the environment variables required by TREX by executing the following command: TREXSettings.bat
  4. Switch to the directory \exe. Stop the CCMS agent by entering the following order:
sapccmsr pf= -j2ee -standalone –stop
The instance profile of your TREX installation has the following path:
:\usr\sap\\SYS\profile\_TRX_
  1. Register the CCMS agent with the following order to the CEN:
sapccmsr pf= -j2ee –R
  1. Enter the connection data for the CEN as entered in the start file CSMCONF that you created in the CEN (see DS:SIMG.SOLMAN_INPERF_CCMS_CEN>Configure CEN System).
:\usr\sap\\SYS\START_TRX_
  1. In the TREX start profile, delete the call for the CCMS agent. This entry is not needed because the CCMS agent runs as its own Windows service after registration.
