SAP E-Book

In this activity, you define custom filters, change existing filters, or deactivate filters and assign these filters to one of the SAP standard widgets. You can also define filters for your own widget based on a component usage of the AIC_IM_MYINCDNTUI component. The widgets are displayed in the home screen (AIC_HOMEUI component), for IT Service Management and Change Request Management.

The SAP standard contains the following widgets:

  1. My Messages - Reported By Me:
  • Available in business role SOLMANREQU

  • Technical component usage name: MyIncidentsReportedByMeSOLMANREQU

  1. My Messages - Action Required By Me
  • Available in business role SOLMANREQU

  • Technical component usage name: MyIncidentsForProcessingByMeSOLMANREQU

  1. My Messages - Reported By My Organization
  • Available in business role SOLMANREQU (hidden in standard configuration)

  • Technical component usage name: MyMessagesReportedByMyOrg

  1. My Messages - For Dispatching
  • Available in business role SOLMANDSPTCH

  • Technical component usage name: MyIncidentsForDispatchingSOLMANDSPTCH

  1. My Messages - Assigned To Me
  • Available in business role SOLMANPRO

  • Technical component usage name: MyIncidentsAssignedToMeSOLMANPRO

These widgets all have a specific purpose. For example, My Messages – Assigned To Meonly shows transactions where your current business partner is the assigned message processor or change manager.

The Customizing consists of two separate parts. The first part is the filter definition and the assignment of filter values. The second part is the definition of the specific widget. Here you assign the filters for each widget and define the visibility of the filters for a widget.

Define Filters

For each filter type, you can define several filters, each containing different values.

You can define filters for the following standard filters:

  • Message Type Filter
  • Status Filter
  • Processor Filter (corresponds to change manager filter for Change Request Management)
  • Team Filter (corresponds to change advisory board filter for Change Request Management)
  • Reporter Filter (corresponds to requester filter for Change Request Management)

Assign Values to Filters

For each filter you define, assign generic values. If applicable, the system maps custom values to the generic values. You can also assign individual custom values to the filters.

Each filter has a translatable description and values assigned depending on the filter type. The status filter, for example, can consist of a user and a system status. The message type filter can consist of a specific transaction type or a predefined group of transaction types based on the scenario customizing.

Define Widget

For each widget, you assign the filters and define the visibility of the filters.

If you do not assign a filter type to the widget, the messages in the widget are not restricted by this filter type.

Select the visibility of a filter:

  • visible: The filter is set to a default value and is displayed in the widget. The user can change the filter value.
  • disabled: The filter is not displayed in the widget. For example, in a widget that shows the messages reported by a user, the processor filter is disabled as it is not relevant in this widget.
  • hidden: The filter is set, but not displayed in the widget. Therefore, the user can neither see nor change the filter value. For example, in a widget that shows the messages reported by an organization, the reporter filter is hidden so that the user cannot see the reporter, but the messages are still filtered by reporter.

You can also configure whether business partner information and information about substitutions is displayed in a widget. If the end-user has several widgets in the home screen, it is more concise to display this information only in a single widget.

You can also configure the default maximum number of messages that the system retrieves.
