SAP E-Book

You create users and business partners for Solution Manager configuration (ABAP stack) in the Solution Manager system.

The Solution Manager system configuration is the configuration of basic settings, and scenarios.

  • To configure basic settings in the Solution Manager system, assign the role SAP_SM_BASIC_SETTINGS and a role for the transactions SU01 and PFCG to the administrator.
No separate role is delivered for these two transactions (SU01, PFCG), for security reasons. See the SAP Solution Manager Security Guide (section: How to Create Roles for End-Users) in the Service Marketplace -> SAP Components -> SAP Solution Manager . If you assign the profile SAP_ALL, you must also assign the authorization object S_RFCACL to your administrator, to generate trusted RFC connections. This authorization is not in the profile SAP_ALL. Create a new role for this authorization object.
  • To configure scenarios in the Solution Manager system, give the administrator the profile SAP_ALL, and the authorization object S_RFCACL to generate trusted RFC connections, if required.
You can create your own configuration roles for your scenario configuration. See the SAP Solution Manager Security Guide (section: How to Create Roles for Scenario-Specific Configuration in Solution Manager) in the Service Marketplace -> SAP Components -> SAP Solution Manager .

Business partner in Solution Manager

Create a business partner of type Key User for the user who performs the configuration.

  1. Create a user role in the Solution Manager System, or add the following authorization objects to an existing user role:
  • Profile SAP_ALL (or SAP_SM_BASIC_SETTINGS just for the basic configuration in the Solution Manager)

  • Role for SU01 and PFCG (if you do not use the profile SAP_ALL)

  • Authorization object S_RFCACL (if you use the profile SAP_ALL)

Give the authorization object S_RFCACL the value RFC_USER = ' ', to ensure the security of your system landscape .
  1. Create a user, and assign the role or profiles described above, to it.

For trusted RFC connections, you must create the same user ID), in the Solution Manager system and the managed systems.

For information about trusted/trusting relationships between SAP systems, see SAP note 128447.
