Use

You must specify a Solution Manager system as the master system. A master system is the system which gets the service updates (service definitions), and distibutes them to the component systems. There should only be one master system, so that service definitions remain consistent. If you do not specify a master, the service definitions are loaded directly from SAP Support Portal.

Requirements

You have activated the Service Data Control Center (SDCCN) in the Solution Manager and the satellites.

Activities

  1. Choose Environment → Solution Manager Operations → Administration SDCCN.
You go to a dialog box in which the connected systems and their status are shown.
  1. Select the row of the system which is to be the master system, e.g. your SAP Solution Manager system.
  2. Choose Master System.
  3. Assign the system as master system.
The selected system is flagged as master system.

Result

The system sets the Master flag in the BACK RFC connection to the master, in the RFC settings for the local SDCCN of satellite systems.

You can check this as follows:

  1. Choose the transaction SDCCN in the satellite system.
  2. Choose the menu: Goto → Settings → Task-Specific.
  3. Choose Task-Specific Settings → Session Data Collection → RFC Destinations → Settings.
  4. Choose the symbol for Settings to display the RFC settings.
  5. You see whether the flag is set for the BACK RFC connection, in the Destination flag.
