SOLMAN_SERVICE_COCKP - Service Cockpit

The Service Cockpit provides a graphical user interface so that the data for the EarlyWatch Alert can be viewed directly in the Solution Manager diagnostics.

1. Call the Service Cockpit at the URL http://:/smd/services.
2. Select the service type.

Note that two technical services are maintained for EWAs:

• Use the #Service Type# EWN if you want to use the SDCCN.

• Use the #Service Type# EWA if you want to use the SDCC.

1. In the second drop-down menu, you can choose the SID/installation number for which the service is to be performed.
2. On the Preparation tab page, choose Start Check.

A service-specific check is executed that makes it possible for you to see whether all required data collection tasks are executed correctly. Error messages are displayed in red.

1. Choose the Configuration tab page to view or download the configuration XML, or to upload an up-to-date version.

All services for which the data provider can collect data are configured centrally by an XML configuration. Note that this application is always delivered with a default XML configuration built-in. Uploading a new version does not overwrite the default version, which can be retrieved by choosing Delete Customer Configuration. This XML configuration specifies the type of data (performance, configuration data) for which SAP non-ABAP components are collected. An evaluation is performed for each data collection.

1. On the Service Download tab page, choose Start Service.

This manually triggers the data collection and the data (production mode: previous 24 hours; otherwise: previous calendar week) is displayed.
