SOLMAN_SMSY_SETUP_AK - Update System Landscape Data

You can edit and update automatically captured data manually, but you should only do so if the automatically captured description does not match the landscape component.

To keep the data up-to-date:

• To edit landscape element data manually once-off , set the data source to Manual Maintenance with Automatic Update.

This could be the case, for example, if a system has a temporary additional server, which is recognized by the automatic data capture, but should not appear in the system description because it is only temporary.

• To NOT automatically overwrite landscape element data which you have maintained manually, set the data source to Manual Maintenance with Adjustment Message.

The person who last changed data to be updated gets an express mail. The obsolete data is flagged in the Solution Manager system landscape with an exclamation mark. You can adjust the data and accept the update.

Manual Maintenance with Automatic Update

1. Choose the transaction SMSY.
2. Choose: System Landscape → Other Object.
3. Flag the landscape component which you want to set to manual input.
4. Choose a landscape component from the value help.
5. Choose Set Data Source to Manual Input.
6. Confirm the security prompt.

The system sets the data source in the system header data to Manual Maintenance with Automatic Update

Manual Maintenance with Adjustment Message

1. Proceed as described under Manual Maintenance with Automatic Update, steps 1-5.
2. Choose the header data tab.
3. Choose the data source Manual Maintenance with Adjustment Message from the value help.
4. Save.
