SAP E-Book

If a server of a system has several network boards, it can have a different IP address from the Solution Manager than from a service connection from SAP via the SAPRouter. Automatic data capture from the System Landscape Directory (SLD) or the Transport Management System (TMS)/RFC, only pass the primary IP address to SMSY: The IP addresses which are known to SMSY are passed in the synchronization of system data from transaction SMSY in the SAP Solution Manager, with the system data maintenance in SAP Support Portal. SAP support can no longer access this system by service connection in this scenario.

If this happens in your systems, you can prevent IP addresses being overwritten in the SAP Support Portal, by activating the enhancement implementation AI_SC_SEND_NO_IP_ADDRESS. If you want to synchronize the IP addresses for some servers or systems and not others, or change the IP addresses, you can create your own implementation of AI_SC_SEND_SYSTEM_DATA (see SAP note 1050693).

  1. Select the enhancement implementation AI_SC_SEND_NO_IP_ADDRESS.
  2. Confirm.
