SAP E-Book

In this Customizing activity, you create a business partner category (key end user) in the SAP Solution Manager system for users who have accounts only in component systems. The system reads the user data through an RFC connection and creates the corresponding business partner.

In particular, the scenarios Job Scheduling, Standard Service Desk (Incident Management), and Service Provider use key users. For value-added resellers, it is not absolutely necessary to create key users at this point. However, we recommend you do this so that you have a functional test scenario.

To automatically create key users, you have created READ RFC destinations from the Solution Manager system to the component systems.

If you automatically create key users with the same user names (system user) from different satellite systems in the SAP Solution Manager system, these key users are created ONCE only in Solution Manager as business partners with several IDs. You can create the business partners for the key users automatically or manually and check these in the transaction BP (Identification tab page).

Create Key Users Automatically

You can create the business partners based on the user master data from the connected component systems (solution independent and solution dependent):

  1. Choose the corresponding transaction.
  • Solution independent (transaction BP_GEN)
  1. Continue from 2.
  • Solution dependent (transaction SOLUTION_MANAGER)
  1. Open your solution in the transaction SOLUTION_MANAGER.
  2. Choose Operations.
  3. Choose Edit -> Create Business Partner.
The system opens a new screen that shows the systems in the current landscape and their users.
  1. To add other systems, choose User List -> Add System.
  2. Select a system from which you want to create business partners.
  3. Select users.
You can select individual users or several users at a time using the SHIFT or CTRL key. You can select non-consecutive users using the CTRL key.
You can filter users by date by choosing Date Selection. For example, enter 10/02/04 to display all users that were created or changed after October 2, 2004. You can enter the number of days that are to be subtracted from the current date in the field BP_GEN_DAYS in the transaction DNO_CUST04.
To display all users, delete all date entries.
  1. Choose Edit -> Create Business Partner.
The system displays a dialog box.
  1. Confirm your entries.
Business partners are created for the selected users.

Create Key Users Manually

  1. Use the transaction BP (Maintain Business Partner).
  2. Choose Business Partner -> Create -> Person.
  3. Choose the role Business Partner (Gen.).
  4. Select the Address tab page, and enter the address information for the key user.
  5. Select the Identification tab page and go to the Identification Numbers section.
  6. Select the ID type CRM001 (External System Identifier).
  7. Enter the user in the Identification Number field in the following format:
  8. Repeat the steps as often as required.
You must repeat the steps for every combination of system ID/installation number/client/user ID for the same business partner in the central SAP Solution Manager system. This data allows the system to determine the business partner by assigning the system user to the business partner data.
  1. Save your entries.
