This IMG activity defines the installation (iBase) manually, e.g. to update existing iBases after solutions have been changed. In an initial transfer of system component data, the solution is transferred as an iBase component with the assigned systems.

You must create An iBase component, or change an existing one, and assign systems to it, for each component system from which Service Desk messages will be sent to the SAP Solution Manager.

For the Value Added Reseller (VAR), it is not absolutely necessary to manually define the iBase at this point. We recommend, however, that you carry out this step so that you have a functioning test scenario.

The standard package contains three components.

  1. Choose installation 1 (SOL_MAN_DATA_REP) in transaction Change Installation (IB52).
You go to iBase maintenance.
  1. Select Solution Manager Installation in the left-hand tree.
  2. Create an IBase component under the IBase header (SOL_MAN_DATA_REP), for example the SAP component system (SAP WEB AS), by entering an iBase component name and ID in the Text tab.
Compare: In an initial transfer of system component data, the solution name is the Name, and the solution ID is the ID.

Assign System to an iBase Component

  1. Select the iBase component in the left-hand tree.
  2. To assign systems as iBase components, go to the Text tab.
  3. Add all the component systems to the table as text items:
  • Name: System Description, e.g. WebAS

  • ID: spacespace, e.g. PRD 0012002107 200.

If the identification is not entered correctly, the system cannot identify the component of the incoming Service Desk message.
  1. Save.
