Customize the statuses a tester can assign to a test case during test execution.

The status definition table is not yet filled at delivery time. If the status assignment accesses this table and it is still empty, an SAP default status is assigned. You can change them if there are not yet assigned to test cases.

The following test case statuses cannot be changed, for technical reasons:

The CATT_*, UNTESTEDandNOT_READYstatuses are created automatically by the system. You cannot delete them, but you can change their description.

  1. Choose Create.
  2. Enter the following data:
  • Description: Describe the result of the test and the follow-up activity, for example:
  • ALMOST_OK: The test is passed, even if some small issues remain to be fixed after the test phase

  • RETEST_OK: A test cases with status TEST_ERRORis retested and passes the test. This means the issue has been resolved.

  • TEST_OK: The test case is passed, you do not have to report issues and re-test.

  • Valuation: Assign a status icon, according to the criticality.

  • Sorting: Define the order of the statuses in the dropdown list or F4 help the tester chooses from.

  • Not Selectable: Define a status as obsolete. It is no longer available in the dropdown list or F4 help the tester chooses from.

Background: A status cannot be deleted because it may already have been assigned to a test case, for example.
  • Test Ended: If the checkbox is selected, the Test Endedflag is set automatically when the user assigns the corresponding status to a test (the TEST_OK status, for example). The tester can remove the flag manually.

When the Test Endedflag is set, the test is finished and nothing can be changed on that level (test status, incidents assignments, results assignment and so on. But the tester can reset the flag, to re-open the status maintenance. When all test cases have this flag, the end date of the test package and test plan are set to the current date.
  1. Save your entries.
  2. To transport your status definitions to another system (if you did not create them in the production system, for example), choose Transport.
