SAP E-Book

In this IMG activity, you assign roles to users containing the necessary authorizations for working with the SAP Solution Manager after its configuration.

See also:

  • SAP Note 834534 and the SAP Solution Manager configuration guide 4.0 for details of Solution Manager roles and authorizations.
  • Solution Manager online documentation for a description of roles.

Before you assign the relevant roles and profiles to your users, we recommend you copy and specify the setting for SAP standard roles and profiles. SAP ships the roles with default values. For default values that are missing, you need to configure the authorizations.

To copy the roles to customer namespace:

  1. Choose activity Create Roles (transaction PFCG).
  2. Specify a role and choose Copy role.
  3. In the to rolefield, specify a name (customer namespace) for the new role and choose Copy all.
  4. Save.

To specify all the allowed settings for the roles:

  1. Go to the tab authorizations.
  2. Choose Maintain authorizations.
  3. Double-click the yellow traffic lights.
The authorizations are displayed in green. You have now assigned full authorizations for the activities. You can also make further changes to the authorizations in accordance with your specific requirements.
  1. Save your changes.
  2. Generate the profile.

To assign a (new) role to the user master data:

  1. Choose activity Create Roles (transaction PFCG).
  2. Choose the Userstab.
  3. Specify the user.
  4. Execute the User Comparison.
  5. Save.

To create or copy users:

  1. Choose activity Create Users.
  2. Assign roles to the users.

Note:

If users work with trusted RFCs, it is necessary to assign the authorization object S_RFCACL to their users which is not part of SAP roles.
