This step activates BC Sets and imports piece lists which are prerequisites for the use of VAR functionality.

Ensure that the client role in the clients in which the BC Sets are activated is not "Production". You can check this with the transaction SCC4.

  1. Choose the transaction type.
  2. Run the activation report.
Th system adjusts the header data (e.g. action profile, status profile) of the selected transaction type. You can activate the BC Sets for the transaction type SLFN or SIVA. If you have already configured the transaction type SLFN for IT service providers, you can continue to use this transaction type. Choose transaction type SLFN. For an initial configuration, activate BC Sets for the transaction type SIVA

Check activation

The system activates:

  • BC Sets in the group SOLMAN40_SPROV_CONFIG, automatically
  • Transaction type SLFN: additional activation of BC Set SOLMAN40_SDESK_VAR_SLFN
  • Transaction type SIVA: additional activation of BC Set SOLMAN40_SDESK_VAR_SIVA

You can check which BC Sets are in this group, in the view AGSBCSETFC.

Display Log

Use the object SOLAR and subobject SOLMAN_CONFIG to analyze the application log.

If you use another scenario in the Service Desk, as well as the IT service provider scenario, see the IMG activity Specify Several Transaction Types.

You must adjust the roles used (e.g. SAP template roles SAP_SUPPDESK_*), if you have selected the transaction type SIVA.

The activation of the BC Sets puts the action „Customer Connection via SAP Service Backbone“ in the action profile AI_SDK_STANDARD. This action can only be used by IT service providers of type VAR, and software partners. To deactivate this action, choose the IMG activity Specify Action Profiles and Actions. Choose the action profile AI_SDK_STANDARD and display the action definitions. Go to change mode, and deactivate the action definition AI_SDK_STANDARD_CONN_VIA_SAP.
