You can use this Customizing activity to make the connection between the reporting entities for which you have to submit reports and the Company Codes in your system.

We recommend filling in the settings in this sequence:

  1. Define Reporting Entities: Enter a code and name for all of the reporting entities that you need to file reports for.
To make things easier for your business users, enter a name of the company. This text will be displayed on the user interface for the users actually running the reports.
  1. Set Validity of Company Code Assignment: For each reporting entity, you have to assign the company codes who make up the legal entity required to submit the report, that is, whose data should be reported together. This assignment is time-dependent. Enter a date from which the system should recognize the validity of these assignments. The system uses this date for certain consistency checks.
  2. Assign Company Codes to a Reporting Entity: Assign the company codes that make up this reporting entity. You can enter one or several, but you must mark one as the leading company code. The system takes data from the leading company code master data to fill fields, for example, the header data of the report file (contact and address data) in the created report documents.

Your organization has three branches with separate company codes and you create reports for three company codes, RU01, RU02, and RU03, with RU03 as the legal entity that submits the reports.

In this Customizing activity, you make the following settings:

  1. You create a reporting entity RUCC (RU Company Codes) on June 1.
  2. You enter June 1 as the valid-from date for the company code assignments.
  3. You assign the three company codes to RUCC: RU01, RU02 and RU03. Since RU03 is the legal entity for which you submit the report, you mark RU03 as the leading company code.
