You use this IMG activity to create a content model with the help of a wizard.

A content model is a technical definition for documents with a common structure. The content model determines the attributes that are given values when the user creates information objects. It also determines the location of information objects. You must define content models before you can store documents with the Knowledge Provider (the SAP document infrastructure).

You can create content models for record models, records, documents, and file plans, and at the same time define the attributes of these information objects. You then assign the content models to an element type. SAP already ships some standard content models. For information abou the SAP content models, see the SAP Library under Records Management -> Customizing. You can use these SAP content models directly (with all their attributes), or you can create new content models. A new content model must always inherit its attributes from one of the SAP content models. In this IMG activity, you create a content model, with the help of a wizard. You must specify which SAP content model you want to use as a template. You enter the attributes for the new content model in the next IMG activity.

You have created a package and a transport request (you need to specify these in the wizard).

For information on executing the activity, see the documentation in the wizard.

The content model is created after you have completed the steps in the wizard. You can check this in the Document Modeling Workbench (transaction code DMWB). Choose SRM → LOIO Classes or PHIO classes → .

Each content model consists of one original and one template class (identified by a V at the end of the name). The latter contains the attributes of the content model. The wizard also creates an additional template class, which you can use when creating multiple content models: Subsequent content models can then inherit from this additional template class.
