In this IMG activity you define a time range in which an assignment can be created for a service order item. This time range is used in:

  • Assignment scheduling, as a window in which the scheduler can create an assignment.
  • Assignment creation. Warnings are generated if the assignment is created outside the time range.
  • Find and Rank (Resources and Demands) to define the time range which the availability percentage must match.

The time range is also displayed as ToDateand FromDatein the Service item list of the Resource Planner Application (RPA).

You define which profile to use for a service order using the customizing activity Business Add-In: Scheduling Profile.

In the scheduling profile, this time range can be defined as a demand window, defined by the following fields:

Field Description
date from The start of a time range
date to The end of a time range
Action From Defines if the planned duration of a service item should be added or subtracted.
Action To Defines if the planned duration of a service item should be added or subtracted.
Priority Defines what should happen if a service order item has more than one time pair to span up time range. The date pair with the highest priority is taken.

Note: This time range is determined during the creation of a service order. If you update the customizing for the time range after a service order has been created, it will not change the existing service order. Rather, the change is effective only for new or edited service orders that you create or maintain after updating the customizing settings.

Priority

To use date types in the date from and date to fields, the date types have to be customized in IMG activity Define Date Types to be relevant for resource planning.

Priority

SAP Delivers an implementation of this BAdI (WFDS_STEERING_PROFIL: Default implementation for get profile BAdI). In this implementation, the default profile is always used. The default is a flag on the profile.
