The APIs of SAP Cloud Platform Process Visibility are called using REST and require an RFC destination to an external server (Type 'G'). You must maintain such a destination for each connected instance of the process visibility service.

  1. Choose the activity icon. The Configuration of RFC Connectionswindow opens (transaction SM59).
  2. Choose Create. The Create Destination window opens.
  3. In the Destination field, enter a name for the RFC destination that you want to create.
  4. In the Connection Type field, enter G, for external server connections.
  5. Choose Continue.
  6. In the Description 1 field, enter some text that describes the RFC destination. For example, the ID of the connected SAP Cloud Platform subaccount.
  7. Choose Enter.
  8. On the Technical Settings tab, enter the correct target system settings:
    1. Hostname and port of the API URL of the process visibility service, available from $.endpoints.pv_rest_url of the service key in the SAP Cloud Platform cockpit. If no dedicated port is mentioned, use port 443.
    2. Path prefix /pv-service/rest
  9. Select the Logon & Securitytab.
  10. In the Logon section, select "Do not use a user" and "Do not send logon ticket".
  11. In the Security Optionssection, set SSL to active and choose the PSE (Cert. List) that contains the SSL certificate offered by your SAP Cloud Platform system.
  12. Choose Save.
  13. To test the connection, choose Connection Test.

If you are facing SSL handshake issues between your back-end system and your SAP Cloud Platform subaccount, configure a trust between both systems as follows:

  1. In a web browser, for example, Google Chrome, enter the hostname and port of the API URL of the process visibility service, available from $.endpoints.pv_rest_url of the service key in the SAP Cloud Platform cockpit. If no dedicated port is mentioned, use port 443.

  3. Choose Certificate.
  4. In the popup window, choose the Details tab and export the certificate to a file in the Base-64 format.
  5. On the Certification Path tab, double click a certificate one level higher.
  6. Repeat the previous two steps until you reach the root certificate.
  7. Start transaction STRUST.
  8. In the tree on the left part of the screen, choose the same PSE you have configured in your RFC connection (in transaction SM59).
  9. For all certificates exported above, choose:
    1. Import Certificateto import the certificate
    2. Add to Certificate List
  10. Choose Save.
