The Social Media ABAP Integration Library (SAIL) provides an ABAP API (main package SCOL) that enables you to use features of external service providers such as the enterprise collaboration tool SAP Jam in (ABAP) applications. The API sends HTTP requests to the service provider that address the specific REST API (REST = REpresentational State Transfer, a programming paradigm for web applications).

This node summarizes all the configuration steps that are necessary in the system as well as in the external target platform to enable SAIL.

These Customizing activities are only necessary if your back-end application supports this type of collaboration and you want to enable collaboration with this back-end application.
