SAP E-Book

In this activity, you assign steps to the business rules. These are the steps that are processed during time evaluation for concurrent employment to create the required output data for personnel assignments being processed together.

You enter all processing steps of the schema that are relevant for the creation of output data for a business subject.

You do not need to specify any time evaluation functions that are generic, that is, that are relevant for all personnel assignments and output data. This includes all technical functions that are relevant for reading time management data or for exporting it to the database (such as CUMBT and P2011, P2000, and so on).
In addition, you do not need to enter any time evaluation functions that apply only to one individual personnel assignment (such as A2003, TIMTP, and TYPES).

Not all steps of the business rules have to process the personnel assignments together. You define on a step by step basis whether you want linked processing.

Note: Business rules must either run through all specified steps on one day or not be processed at all. You should check in particular your IF constructions in your schema, where some steps may be processed only if certain conditions are fulfilled.
A business rule is not processed at all if, on the current day, the output data specified in the business subject does not have to be created for any of the employee's personnel assignments.

You enter only processing steps that are within the day processing part of time data processing.

  1. Choose the Assign Steps to Business Rules activity.
  2. For a business rule, enter all time evaluation functions that are relevant for the creation of output data indicated in a business subject.
Enter the time evaluation functions in the exact sequence in which they are processed in the schema. Assign a sequential number to reflect the sequence in the schema.
If a function has to be processed more than once and it is in the schema more than once, you also have to enter the functions this often and in the exact sequence as is required for the creation of output data in this business rule.
  3. For each function, specify the parameters that are used in the schema. The system requires the parameters to identify the step of the business rule.
  4. Specify whether each function is to process the current personnel assignments together.
  5. If required, enter a comment so that you can understand your entries more easily later.
  6. Select the rows in which you inserted the functions GWT, LIMIT, or QUOTA.
  7. In the dialog structure, double-click on the name of the function row you selected.
  8. Enter the groupings that belong to rules (for time wage type selection, quota type selection, and so on) whose output data is assigned to the business subject being processed, and that are to be processed in the current business rule for the assigned grouping values for personnel assignments.
The system requires this information to be able to assign the steps being processed to a business rule. You need to enter the information because the groupings may change within the schema processing.
  9. If you have assigned a personnel calculation rule to a function, choose the Assign Personnel Calculation Rule to Business Subject activity.
  10. Enter the personnel calculation rules and assign them to a business subject.
Note: You can assign a personnel calculation rule to one business subject only.
  11. If required, check in the relevant transaction which output data you create in the personnel calculation rule.
  12. If required, check that you have assigned this output data to the corresponding business subject.
