SAP E-Book

In this step, you schedule a background processing session to execute time evaluation for concurrent employment (RPTIME01).

You want recorded time data to be evaluated once daily, overnight.

You should be familiar with the basics of the SAP Basis system.

  • Choose the name of the background processing session accordingly, such as Time Evaluation for Concurrent Employment.
  • If you have previously carried out time evaluation using RPTIME00, you must ensure that there are no remaining background processing sessions for RPTIME00 as of the production startup date for employee groups that you now want to evaluate using RPTIME01.
  • If you record time data by machine in an external system, choose the start date so that time evaluation is not run until after the time events have been uploaded.
  1. Decide on the parameters you want to be used to run the time evaluation report.
As a rule, it makes sense for the Evaluation Schema field to be filled and no other parameters to be specified.
In particular, you should delete the content of the Evaluation up to field. You can also set the date to the day before the current day, for example, when you determine a variant.
  2. Define a suitable variant.
  3. Define a background processing session to execute time evaluation. The report being executed is RPTIME01.
  4. In the Variant field, enter the name of the variant you created.
  • A background processing session that you plan in the test system is not transported to the production system. You have to schedule the background processing session again in the production system. Note also that the required variant must also be created in the production system.
  • You do not necessarily have to relate the execution of time evaluation to the background processing session of the upload of time events.
