SAP E-Book

In this activity, you check whether the time wage type selection rules that you want to process together for more than one personnel assignment have an identical business function.

You must therefore ensure that all Customizing entries and the names of the wages types in the time wage type selection rules are identical for all the following key fields:

  • Country grouping
  • Time wage type selection rule group
  • Day grouping
  • Sequence number

Determining several wage types using one business subject

If you want to use one business subject to determine several wage types, the rules of the personnel assignments being processed together must be equivalent in the related rule groups.

Example
If the wage types MM10, MM20, and MM30 are assigned to one business subject, the relevant rule groups of the personnel assignments must be structured identically:
All personnel assignments processed together possess:
  • Rules for the wage types MM10, MM20, and MM30, or

  • Rules for the wage types MM10 and MM20, or

  • One rule for the wage type MM10, and so on.

One personnel assignment must not therefore possess rules for the wage types MM10 and MM20 while the other personnel assignment possesses rules for the wage types MM10, MM20, and MM30.

Exiting the rule/ending time wage type selection

If, in the time wage type selection rules, you have also formulated conditions for exiting a rule or ending time wage type selection, the sequence in which the system runs through the time wage type selection rules must be identical for all personnel assignments processed together.

If you specified in a time wage type selection rule that you want time wage type selection to be ended, the system ends the processing of the business subject for the employee. If you have further processing of the GWT function in subsequent steps of the business rules, this is still carried out for the employee.

Check the relevant time wage type selection rules.

The following regulation applies to all personnel assignments belonging to the personnel subarea XYZZ:

You want the wage type MM10 (overtime 25%) to be generated for the processing type M (overtime). You want the wage type to be generated if the overtime is worked on a working day and the current day is not a public holiday.

You first ensure that in the Customizing settings for concurrent employment:

  • The wage type MM10 is assigned to a business subject
  • All personnel assignments of the personnel subarea XYZZ are grouped for valuation of overtime in a personnel assignment grouping
  • A corresponding business rule for valuation of overtime is set up with a distribution method

In this activity, you ensure that all time wage type selection rules that concern the wage type MM10 are identical in their business function.

If you do not assign any distribution method to a step of the business rule with the GWT function, the system assigns the selected time wage type to the personnel assignment for which it was created.

If you specify a distribution method, the generated wage type is distributed over the relevant personnel assignments. The same applies if the wage type being distributed has a C1 or ALP split. When defining distribution methods, you should consider whether you want this in view of activity allocation or whether it is technically possible.
