SAP E-Book

In this Customizing activity, you specify the authorizations for the talent management specialist and the authorizations for managers with regard to Talent Management that are used for the structural authorization check.

The standard system comprises the following authorization profiles that you can use as examples:

TMS_PROFILE

This profile gives the user access to all objects for which a talent management specialist usually requires authorizations. The process comprises the following settings:

  • TMS_PROFILE 10
Gives the talent management specialist the change authorization for all organizational units, positions, their incumbents, and assigned successors that are in his or her area of responsibility. These are determined as follows:
  • At runtime, the HRTMC_GET_ALL_RESP_ORGUNITS function module determines all organizational units that are assigned to the talent management specialist via relationship 741 (Is Responsible For/Is in Area of Responsibility Of). A talent management superuser has previously made this assignment.

  • For relationship 741 a reporting depth is specified that the function module uses to determine any other organizational units under those organizational units that are in the talent management specialist’s direct area of responsibility.

  • For all of these organizational units, the authorization profile uses the O_S_SUCC evaluation path to determine the positions, their incumbents, and assigned successors.

  • TMS_PROFILE 20
Gives the talent management specialist the authorization to edit the talent data of the talents for which he or she is responsible. These are determined as follows:
  • At runtime, the HRTMC_GET_RESP_TALENT_GROUPS function module determines all talent groups to which the talent management specialist is assigned as a member of the support team. The talent management specialist or a different talent management specialist has made this assignment.

  • The authorization profile uses evaluation path B743 to determine all talents that are assigned to these talent groups.

  • TMS_PROFILE 30
Gives the talent management specialist the change authorization for all jobs.
  • TMS_PROFILE 40
Gives the talent management specialist the change authorization for all functional areas.
  • TMS_PROFILE 50
Gives the talent management specialist the change authorization for all job families.
  • TMS_PROFILE 60
Gives the talent management specialist the change authorization for all qualifications.
  • TMS_PROFILE 70
Gives the talent management specialist the display authorization for all organizational units.
  • TMS_PROFILE 80
Gives the talent management specialist the display authorization for all positions.
  • TMS_PROFILE 90
Gives the talent management specialist the display authorization for all employees, via the object type Central Person (CP).
  • TMS_PROFILE 100
Gives the talent management specialist the display authorization for all employees, via the object type Person (P).

TMS_ALL

This profile gives the user the change authorization for all organizational units, positions, jobs, functional areas, job families, qualifications, persons, and central persons. This profile is useful for a talent management superuser, for example.

TMS_MAN_PROF

This profile enables the manager to access the organizational units and positions for which he or she is responsible, the position incumbents, and the successors that are assigned to the positions. These are determined as follows:

  • At runtime, the function module RH_GET_MANAGER_ASSIGNMENT determines all organizational units that are assigned to the manager via relationship 012 (Manages.../Is Managed By...).
  • For these organizational units, the authorization profile uses the evaluation path O_O_S_SU to determine the lower-level organizational units. For all organizational units, it determines the positions and then the incumbents and successors that are assigned to these positions.

Use the sample authorization profiles as a template to create your own authorization profiles and assign them to the appropriate users.
