In this Customizing activity, you specify how the calibration grid that you want to use for a talent review meeting, for example, is to be structured. You can create more than one calibration grid, but you can never actually use more than one. You specify the calibration grid that is to be used in the Specify Grid to Be Used Customizing activity.

The settings that you make for the calibration grid to be used also affect the calibration grid icon that is displayed in the short profile for the talent. For example, if you define a calibration grid with six fields, an icon of a calibration grid with six fields is also displayed. The calibration grid icons are stored in the Knowledge Provider. Caution
Make sure that you use exactly the same scales for the calibration grid that you used in Performance Management to evaluate the performance and potential of the employees.

The standard SAP system comprises the following sample calibration grids:

  • SAP_TALENT_GRID
  • X-axis = Performance with a scale with three proficiencies (1 = sufficient, 2 = good, 3 = very good)

  • Y-axis = Potential with a scale with three proficiencies (1 = sufficient, 2 = good, 3 = very good)

  • The potential of the talents can be changed, the performance cannot be changed

  • SAP_PERFORMANCE_GRID
  • X-axis = Performance with a scale with three proficiencies (1 = sufficient, 2 = good, 3 = very good)

  • Y-axis = Potential with a scale with three proficiencies (1 = sufficient, 2 = good, 3 = very good)

  • The performance of the talents can be changed, the potential cannot be changed
