SAP E-Book

In this Customizing activity, you can make settings for the talent profile that is used for talent management specialists and in Manager Self-Service. This version of the talent profile shows both the categories that employees can edit themselves (work experience, mobility, and so on), and the categories that are edited by the talent management specialist or manager (potential, derailers, and so on).

For example, you can change the sequence of the displayed tabs, or insert your own tabs that contain data from customer-specific infotypes. You can also include your own templates or processes for the talent assessment in the talent profile.

If you want to insert customer-specific processes for the employee assessment, you need to have created these in the Customizing activities of the Assessment of Employees section.

  1. Choose ABAP Program Execution (transaction SA38) and execute the Configure Web Dynpro Applications for Talent Profile (RPTMC_PROFILE_LAUNCHER) report.
  2. Make the following entries on the report selection screen:
  • Enter any central person in the Person field.

  • Select the MSS/TMS Talent Profile radio button.

  • Specify the language in which you would like to edit the Web Dynpro configuration.

  1. In the browser window, choose the Adjust Configuration link in the application identification area.
  2. In the Editor for Web Dynpro ABAP Component Configuration screen, choose Change.
  3. In the Component Configuration <Name of Component> screen, make sure that the Component-Defined view is set, and make the required settings.
  4. You can use a Web Dynpro component to insert customer-specific processes for assessing employees so that the documents that are based on the templates of these processes are displayed in the talent profile of the relevant employee. The documents can be based on processes of the talent assessment, the predefined Performance Management process, or the flexible appraisal processes for the employee assessment.
For this, proceed as described in the "Including Customer-Specific Processes" section.

For more information about configuring Web Dynpro ABAP applications, see SAP NetWeaver Library and choose Floorplan Manager for Web Dynpro ABAP.

You can use the Web Dynpro component HRTMC_TA_ASSESSMENT for talent assessment processes. Enter this with a corresponding component configuration that contains the process ID in the application configuration HRTMC_LONG_PROFILE.

Note
For example, the application configuration HRTMC_LONG_PROFILE is used in the Talent Management Specialist 1.50 portal role and in the Talent Management Specialist (SAP_TAL_MGMT_SPEC_TMC_CI_2) role for SAP NetWeaver Business Client.

Alternatively, you can include the Web Dynpro component HRTMC_TP_TA_WRAPPER in the application configuration HRTMC_LONG_PROFILE_606.

Note
For example, the application configuration HRTMC_LONG_PROFILE_606 is used in the Talent Management Specialist 1.6 portal role and in the Talent Management Specialist (SAP_SR_TMC_TMS_6) role for SAP NetWeaver Business Client.

The Web Dynpro component HRTMC_TP_TA_WRAPPER can display documents from the talent assessment, the predefined Performance Management process, and the flexible appraisal processes. You can include the Web Dynpro component HRTMC_TP_TA_WRAPPER with or without component configuration:

  • Without component configuration
In this case, all existing appraisal documents for an employee are displayed on the Talent Assessment tab. The tab is not divided into subviews such as Performance, Potential, or Competencies.
  • With component configuration
In this case, you can define one or more processes to which the display is to be restricted. For the processes that you can use in the component configuration, see table T77TMCPROC.
Example
To display only documents that are assigned to the Derailers process, enter the process ID BARR for the process element.
Conversely, you can use the excludeProcess indicator to specify that all documents not assigned to the processes stated are displayed.
Example
You set the excludeProcess indicator and enter the process ID COMP for the process element. Then the talent profile displays all documents except for those that are assigned to the Competencies process.
You can also include the Web Dynpro component HRTMC_TP_TA_WRAPPER more than once with different component configurations. For example, you can thus create your own subcategory for an appraisal process and display several other processes together in a subcategory.
Example
In a component configuration, you enter the process ID BARR for the process element
In a second component configuration, you use the process element more than once and enter the process IDs PERF, PMP, and COMP for this.
The documents for assessing derailers are then displayed in a separate subcategory. The following documents are displayed together in a further subcategory:
- Documents from flexible appraisal processes
- Documents from the predefined Performance Management process
- Documents for assessing competencies
Note
Since a separate Web Dynpro component exists for the process DEVP, you cannot use the Web Dynpro component HRTMC_TP_TA_WRAPPER to display this process.
