TMC_0064 - Define Virus Scan Profiles

Virus scan profiles are used by application programs to scan for viruses. A virus scan profile names steps to be taken during a scan. A step can either be a virus scanner that is found via the scanner group, or a step can name a virus scan profile that is then executed as part of the surrounding virus scan profile.

Virus scan profiles can be activated or deactivated individually to activate or deactivate the virus scan in the system by component.

A virus scan profile is provided for each SAP application that integrates a virus scan. The name of this virus scan profile starts with a forward slash "/", followed by the name of the application package, followed by a name that describes the function.

For more information on virus scans, see Customizing for SAP NetWeaver and choose Application Server → System Administration → Virus Scan Interface.

You have made the Customizing settings for the virus scan interface. Before you can use the standard virus scan profile, you must define the steps to be executed during the virus scan for the profile.

SAP provides the /HCM_TMC/DOCUMENT_UPLOAD virus scan profile for Talent Management.

Activate the standard virus scan profile provided for Talent Management if required.

Note

The more virus scan profiles that are activated, the more likely it is that there will be performance issues when processing attachments as all activated scan programs are running.
