SAP E-Book

This Business Add-In (BAdI) is used in the Talent Management (PA-TM) component.

You can use this BAdI to specify which functions the talent management specialist has available for the individual follow-up activities of talent review meetings. For example, you can specify which columns the list on the Follow-Up tab is to contain for talent review meetings, provide pushbuttons, or implement authorization checks to restrict the authorizations of talent management specialists for follow-up activities.

For each follow-up activity performed, the system creates records for the infotype Follow-Up (7438).

You need a separate BAdI implementation for each follow-up activity. In the standard SAP system, implementations are active for the following follow-up activities:

  • Update of Performance Document and Potential Document
  • Approve or Reject Talent Group Nominations

If you want to create BAdI implementations for customer-specific follow-up activities, you need to have previously created these activities in Customizing for Talent Management and Talent Development under Talent Review Meeting -> Define Follow-Up Activities for Talent Review Meetings. The name of the follow-up activity that you specify there is used as the filter value for this BAdI.

For more information about the standard settings (filters, single use, or multiple uses), see the Enh. Spot Element Definitions tab in the BAdI Builder (transaction SE18).

  • Update Performance Document and Potential Document (HRTMC_RM_FOLLOWUP_PERF_POT)
This implementation provides the columns Performance, Potential, and Status for the follow-up list and activates the relevant pushbuttons. The talent management specialist can thus update the appraisal documents for the performance assessment and potential assessment with the values that were defined for the relevant employees in the talent review meeting.
  • Approve/Reject Talent Group Nominations (HRTMC_RM_FOLLOWUP_TALENT_GROUP)
This implementation provides the columns Talent Group and Status for the follow-up list and activates the relevant pushbuttons. The talent management specialist can thus approve, reject, or retroactively change the talent group assignments that were specified in the talent review meeting.
This implementation also provides the talent group as a grouping option for the follow-up list. You can use this implementation as an example if you want to create your own follow-up activities and provide them as a grouping option.
When the talent management specialist approves talent group nominations, the BAdI implementation updates the related records of the infotype Relationships (1001), subtype A743. In doing so, it changes the status in the additional data for the relationship 743 (Has Talent For/Comprises Talent) from Nominated to Approved.
Note
Talent group assignments with the status Nominated can be created by the implementation Assignment to Talent Groups (HRTMC_RM_CA_TG_ASSIGNMENT) of the BAdI Activities When Approving Talents in Calibration Grid (HRTMC_B_RM_CONFIRM_ACTIVITIES). For more information about the BAdI implementation Assignment to Talent Groups, see BAdI: Activities When Approving Talents in Calibration Grid.

For information about the implementation of BAdIs in the context of the Enhancement Concept, see SAP Library for SAP NetWeaver under BAdIs - Embedding in the Enhancement Framework.
