In this Customizing activity, for the appraisal templates, you specify which status change is relevant for writing values from talent review meetings to the appraisal documents.

In the catalog for appraisal templates, status changes called "Pushbuttons" and the associated source and target statuses are defined. In the standard SAP system, the status change that the system makes in the appraisal document when the document is updated by the talent review meeting is the status change Update After Talent Review Meeting (UPDATE_POST_TRM) with the initial status In Process and the target status In Process. For this status change, the status flow is defined in the appraisal template with the corresponding initial substatus and target substatus.

However, since the status flow is not always unique and the target status can be reached by different status changes, the system needs the information on which status change is relevant when it updates the appraisal documents after a talent review meeting. Therefore, in this Customizing activity, you need to state the relevant status change (meaning the relevant "pushbutton") for each appraisal template.

In Customizing for Personnel Management, under Personnel Development -> Objective Setting and Appraisals -> Process Forms, you have made the following settings:

  • If you want to use a status change different from Update After Talent Review Meeting (UPDATE_POST_TRM), you need to have created the status change that you want.
  • You have specified the status flow for the status change.
