TOEV_DESIG_TYPE - Define Designation Types

Define the designation types required within the automated designation process.

In the Hedging Area master data app on the Hedge Accounting tab, the designation type is assigned for a combination of the values of the following criteria:

• Company code

• Valuation area

• Company code on behalf of which the financial transaction is created

• Hedging classification

1. Choose New Entries.
2. In the Designation Type field, specify a designation type.
3. In the Designation Category field, specify the designation category for this designation type.
4. In the Description field, enter a description for this designation type.
5. Set the Release of Hedging Relationship Requires Counterconfirmation indicator if needed.
6. If required, set the indicator Release of Hedging Relationship Requires Release.
7. Choose whether the automated designation process starts immediately with the creation of the financial transaction or whether it starts at the end of the day, after all relevant snapshots of the day have been taken. Set the End-of-Day Designation indicator if needed.

This setting is relevant for you if you need to take several snapshots a day with the Day Reference indicator. In this case, you trigger the automated designation after the last snapshot of the day using the Reprocess Financial Transaction for Automated Designation function.

Note:

All designation types relevant for a hedging area must have the same settings concerning the end-of-day designation. They all provide either for end-of-day designation or for immediate designation.
