In this IMG activity, you can define additional attributes for your positions. You can add the attributes to your positions manually in the position indicator (transaction TPM55A or TPM56A) or implement the BAdI TPM_POS_IND_TRL, which assigns the attributes automatically when you create the position indicator.

You can define the following:

  • Three short attributes
  • Three medium attributes
  • Three long attributes

The short and medium attributes have value tables that also work as check tables. The long attributes are text attributes without value tables.

The attributes are available in the subledger cash flow (transaction TPM13) and in the position list(transaction TPM12) where you can use them for selection and as evaluation attributes.

  1. Choose New Entries.
  2. Select an attribute ID and define the short description (10-digit), medium description (20-digit) and long description (40-digit) of this attribute.
  3. Save your entries.
  4. Now you can enter the values for the short and medium attributes. Select the attribute and choose Short AttributeValues or Medium Attribute Values.
  5. Enter the four-digit short key for the attribute values (in the Attribute field) and the description (30-digit) for all values of the attribute.
  6. Save your entries.
  7. Continue until you have defined all required attributes.

You want to assign a plant to a position. Define a short attribute S1 with the description Plant. Then define the permitted values of the Plant attribute:

01,,Berlin 1
02,,Berlin 2
03,,Hamburg
04,,Munich
