Exclude product groups, product categories, and product types from the transfer to the parallel valuation areas.

The following options are available:

  • Exclude certain product groups, product categories, and product types from the transfer to all parallel valuation areas
  • Exclude certain product groups, product categories, and product types from the transfer to specific valuation areas
  • Exclude certain product groups, product categories, and product types from processing in specific accounting codes (across all valuation areas or for given valuation areas).

The exclusion logic is based on a hierarchy, with the product group at the top level followed by the product category and then the product type.

  • To exclude a product category, you must first select the relevant product group at the upper level and make the corresponding settings. You then select the required product category from the level below.
  • To exclude a product type, you must first select the relevant product group at the upper level and make the corresponding settings. You then select the required product category, followed by the product type, from the levels below.

If you set the Exclusionindicator for a particular level, this also applies to all levels below.
Example: If you set the exclusion indicator for the product group Securities, all the product categories and product types belonging to this product group are automatically excluded.

To exclude a product group:

  1. Choose New Entries.
  2. If you select an accounting code, the product group is only be excluded for that particular accounting code. If you do not select an accounting code, the entry applies to all accounting codes within the valuation area that you selected.
  3. Select a valuation area. If you do not select a valuation area, the product group is excluded from all parallel valuation areas.
  4. Choose a product group.
  5. Set the Exclusionindicator. This excludes the entire product group (that is, all the corresponding product categories and types).
Note:
Do not set the Exclusion indicator if you only want to exclude specific product categories or product types.

To exclude a product category:

  1. First make the settings at the level for the relevant product group. Then select the entry and go to the Exclude Product Categories level.
  2. Choose New Entries.
  3. Select the product category that you require.
  4. Set the Exclusion indicator. This excludes the entire product category (that is, all the corresponding product types).
Note:
Do not set the Exclusionindicator if you only want to exclude specific product types.

To exclude a product type:

  1. First make the settings at the level for the relevant product group and the relevant product category. Then select the entry and go to the Exclude Product Types level.
  2. Choose New Entries.
  3. Choose the product type that you require.
  4. Set the Exclusion indicator. If you do not set the indicator, your entries are invalid and are ignored by the system.
