In this Customizing activity, you create node-level attributes, which will be displayed in hierarchy definition (table area) in Manage Global Hierarchies. This activity is optional.

You have defined the relevant hierarchy types.

To add node attribute for a hierarchy type, take the following steps:

  1. Choose New Entries.
  2. Select the hierarchy type.
  3. Select a node type.
Note: Only the node types Leaf and Inner Nodeare relevant for attribute definition.
  1. Specify an ID, a long description, and a short description of the attribute.
The long description will be displayed in the node edit/display window, while the short description displayed as a column name in table area.
  1. If you have selected Allow Mixwhen defining the hierarchy type, you need to specify here in the Business Entity column as follows:
  • For the Leaf node type: Specify which business entity the attribute is applicable to, one row for each business entity.

  • For Inner Node: Specify which business entity the attribute is applicable to. You can leave it empty if the attribute is meant for free-text nodes.

  1. If a node type has multiple attributes, specify UI display order of the attributes in the Order column. It will determine their display sequence in the node edit/display window.
  2. You can also group multiple attributes so that they display together in a screen section of the node edit/display window. To do that, enter the group ID in the Node Attribute Groupcolumn.
Note: The group must first be created in the Node Attribute Grouppage. The group must have the same Node Typeand Business Entityas the attribute. In case a node type has multiple attribute groups, you also need to specify the UI display order of the groups.
  1. Select one of the following options as the attribute type:
  • Checkbox

  • Input Field

  • Single Selection from Fixed Values

  • Multiple Selection from Fixed Values

If you choose Single Selection from Fixed Valuesor Single Selection from Fixed Values, you must specify the values available for selection in the Node Attribute Valuesubpage.

  • Input Type: If single value or multiple values are allowed for the attribute.

Value Range is not supported as an input type in the current release.
  • Search Help Name, Search Help Field, and Search Help Text Field: Enter search help for the attribute values. If you leave them empty, free-text values are allowed for the attribute.

  1. Select Mandatory if value is required for the attribute.
  2. Select Ready-Onlyif the attribute value can't be changed by users in Manage Global Hierarchies. The attribute value can be filled in by implementing the BAdI BADI_FINS_UH_ADJUST_ATTR_VALS.
  3. Select Display in Columnif the attribute shall be displayed as a column in the hierarchy definition table area. In case of multiple attributes for the node type, specify their display order in Attribute Column Order.
  4. Select For Fast Entryif the attribute shall be displayed in the Fast Entrywindow. In case of multiple attributes for the node type, specify their display order in Order in Fast Entry.
