In this IMG activity, you can set the rule for Education Grant calculation using the Education Grant Calculation Rule feature (UNEGR).

For education grant, different calculation rules apply, depending on various combinations of master data entries.

You must provide a relevant EG entitlement annexure.

The standard setup is configured according to NPO Education Grant regulations.

The decision tree is built according to the following decision steps:

  1. Whether the employee is located in the designated duty station or not. Whether Education Grant is applicable for this particular school type.
  2. Whether the school is not located in the duty station
  3. Whether the child is in a boarding school or not.

Depending on these decision steps the following calculation rules are provided:

  • Return value CR01:

So, the child attends the educational institution (primary or secondary level) outside the duty station. Information on designated duty stations is provided as part of the CMT tables and will be updated in the system.

  • Return value CR04:
The educational institution provides boarding facility
(a) One hundred per cent of the costs of board is payable, up to the maximum indicated in the annexure.
(b) Seventy-five per cent of the allowable costs of attendance and of any part of the costs of board in excess of the amount indicated in the relevant column of the annexure are payable, with a maximum reimbursable amount as indicated in the annexure.
