With this IMG activity you can define the mapping of company codes in an on-behalf-of (OBO) scenario of commodity financial transactions. You can also specify transaction details to be used in an OBO scenario.

  • The hedge execution company code represents the company code, which trades external commodity financial transactions with an external partner.
  • The exposure company code represents the company code for which a commodity exposure exists, but which does not execute external commodity financial transactions on its own.
  • To map company codes for an OBO scenario, you must have defined business partners suitable for the companies defined.

Example: For company code 0001, subsidiary company code 1000 is assigned to. If company 0001 is supposed to close commodity financial transactions with an external partner on-behalf-of company 1000, the company code mapping and transaction details must have been defined.
  • To set up transaction details, suitable product types, transaction types, portfolios, general valuation classes, buy and sell flow types must have been defined.

  1. Under Assign Intercompany Trade Parameters, enter valid combinations of product type, transaction type, and flow type for external commodity trades. Assign corresponding combinations for the offsetting intercompany and intercompany trades.
  2. Under Assign Business Partner to Hedge Execution Company, enter the hedge company code and a suitable business partner for the commodity financial transactions, and save your entries.
  3. Mark the newly created record and select Assign Business Partner to Exposure Company.
  4. Enter an exposure company code and add a suitable business partner for the offsetting intercompany commodity trades and save your entries.
  5. Mark the newly created record and select Assign Portfolio.
  6. Specify the mapping of portfolios for the commodity financial transactions and save your entries.
  7. Select Assign Valuation Class.
  8. Specify the mapping of general valuation classes for the commodity financial transactions and save your entries.

Result:

If, in transaction FTR_CREATE or in the Fiori apps to quickly capture financial transactions or counter deals, and you enter an On Behalf of Company Code, the defined mapping and transaction details will be automatically applied.
