VC_ATCVC_ESI - Assign General Valuation Class to Product Type

In this Customizing activity, you can define a general valuation class that is used as a default value for product types for exposure subitems.

You need to define the general valuation classes under Transaction Manager -> General Settings -> Accounting -> Settings for Position Management -> Define and Assign Valuation Classes.

You create a derivative financial transaction in the system and start the automated process for exposure item hedging (FX risk). During this process, the general valuation class (GVC) for the product type for exposure subitems is read (in this activity) and the valuation classes for the exposure subitems are automatically determined for position management purposes.

1. Choose New Entries.
2. Use input help to select a product type with the product category 991 Exposure Item.
3. Use the dropdown menu in the General Valuation Class (GVC) field and select the GVC that was created for exposure subitem processing.
4. Make any company code-specific settings, as required.
5. Save your entries.
