VC_CAD_SRV_CUS - Define CAD System Specific Settings

With ECTR, you can use a CAD interface to process document structures directly in the CAD system, or from the SAP system.

To be able to work in ECTR, that is integrated with a CAD system, you must make the following settings:

• Enter CAD Systems for CAD Desktop

• Group Maintenance

• Explosion Scenario

• Configure Bill of Material

You have installed and configured SAP Engineering Control Center following the SAP ECTR installation guide.

To configure the customizing, proceed as follows:

1. Set Up CAD Systems

If you want to set up a new CAD system, proceed as follows:

1. Choose CAD System in the dialog structure.
2. Choose New Entries.
3. Enter a CAD system with a description, as well as an abbreviation for the CAD system.

Group Maintenance

If you want to create a new group for a CAD system, proceed as follows:

1. Select the CAD system that you want.
2. Choose Group Maintenance in the dialog structure.
3. Choose New Entries.
4. Enter a name for a user group as well as a user or a role

Explosion Scenarios

If you want to define a new explosion scenario, proceed as follows:

1. Choose Explosion Scenario in the dialog structure.
2. Choose New Entries.
3. Define a new explosion scenario.
4. If you want to define explosion rules for this new explosion scenario, select the explosion scenario created.
5. Choose Explosion Rule in the dialog structure.
6. Choose New Entries.
7. Choose a CAD field from the suggested values.
8. Choose a CAD field abbreviation from the suggested values.
9. Choose an explosion rule from the suggested values.

Configure Bill of Material

If you want to derive BOM from SAP ECTR, proceed as follows:

1. Create or select the CAD system that you want.
2. Choose Group Maintenance in the dialog structure.
3. Create or select the user group that you want.
4. Choose Derive Bill of Material in the dialog structure.
5. Select the BOM category that you want.
6. Choose BOM Category-Specific Parameter in the dialog structure.
7. Select the BOM parameter that you want from the list and maintain value for the same.

Save your entries.
