In this activity, you can select objects that are automatically copied when you copy a marketing project.

The copy control function allows you to use freely definable rules to include certain objects that are assigned to a marketing project (such as segments or products) in the copy process or, conversely, to exclude them from the copy process.

Note that key figures that are managed using planning profile sets and are not assigned to the new key figure planning infrastructure are not copied. This is also the case when the corresponding copy indicator is selected.

The activity has two steps:

  1. In the first step, you define the copy control rules, which simply contain lists of the objects to be copied without reference to the marketing project type that the objects have. Before saving the rules, the system checks that the following conditions have been met:
  • Copying marketing spends requires that quantity distributions are copied. However, you can copy quantity distributions without having to copy marketing spends.

  • Copying key figures requires that trade spends, analyses, cost distributions, products, and target groups are also copied.

  • Copying conditions requires that products are also copied.

  1. In the second step, you assign the previously defined rules to marketing project types.

Copying Condition Records

The conditions records that belong to these usages are copied if you check the Condition Records checkbox, regardless of whether you created them manually or generated them automatically.
Rebate condition records are not copied because they have to be linked with rebate agreements, which are not copied. You need to create new rebate agreements from the new Marketing project by clicking Generate Conditionsor by releasing the Marketing project directly. The system creates new condition records at the same time and links them with the new rebate agreements.
  • Campaign determination condition records
Campaign determination condition records are not copied. You should not have campaign determination condition records in a Marketing project that is not released.
