In this activity, you control the default values for the attributes of a marketing project to be created.

The default values for the attributes of a marketing project to be created are inherited from the higher-level marketing project according to certain rules that you define.

This is not the case when creating a project by copying. When creating a marketing project in this way, the attributes are inherited from the copy template without reference to the attributes of the higher-level marketing project and without reference to the rules defined for the default control.

The activity has two steps:

  1. In the first step, you define the default rules that specify the attributes whose values are to be inherited without reference to the category of the marketing projects involved. The definition of default rules occurs on four levels:
    1. On the first level, you specify the rule ID and the description of the default rule.
    2. On the second level, you select the structure category, which describes the type of structure that you will select on the next level.
    3. On the third level, you select a technical structure that is appropriate for the structure category, providing one exists. You can select dynamically created structures as well as predefined structures here.
    4. On the fourth level, you choose an attribute from the previously selected structure. You can only select those attributes that are not part of a separate, predefined default control or are of a purely technical nature.
  2. In the second step, you assign the previously defined rules to combinations of marketing project categories that describe the higher-level and lower-level marketing element. The latter is identical to the marketing element to be created.

Attributes that are not suitable for a marketing project category are automatically filtered out during the inheritance process.
