In this Customizing activity, you can define customer-specific tooltips that provide additional information for the link object types from-object, link-object, and to-object in the network graphic. You create a tooltip profile and assign a number of tooltip elements that provide field values such as the Edge Type or the Link Category, the information Valid from/to or Changed by/Created by, or linear data such as Start Point, End Point, or Unit of Measurement.

If you do not want to define your own customer-specific tooltip profiles you can use the SAP standard tooltip profile. The system displays the tooltips in your graphic as defined in this standard profile or in a customer-specific profile that you define as the default profile. In addition, you can create tooltip profiles for individual users and assign these tooltip profiles to their user profiles using the parameter EAML_TT_DFLT_PROF.

Create a tooltip profile and assign the tooltip elements that you want the system to display as additional information for the corresponding objects. You can control how the tooltip elements are displayed as follows:

  • You can decide whether the tooltip element is to be displayed in the tooltip of a from-object, a link-object, or a to-object.
  • You can determine whether the tooltip element is displayed at all.
  • You can decide at which position the tooltip element is displayed in the tooltip. If you assign numbers to the tooltip elements, they are displayed in the tooltip in that sequence, that is, the element assigned 1 appears first, the element assigned 2 appears second, and so on. If you do not assign a number to an element, it is displayed at the end of the tooltip.
  • You can decide if the tooltip element is to be displayed for technical object type Equipment or Functional Location. If you leave the table field empty, the tooltip element is displayed for both object types.
