YCOA is the standard, pre-delivered operating chart of accounts for SAP S/4HANA Cloud. New customers are allowed to renumber the pre-delivered account numbers in YCOA, that is, map them to the existing account numbers that they already use for their accounting. The renumbered G/L accounts are then imported into their production system and used for posting.

In some cases, SAP wants to renumber the accounts delivered in YCOA in advance for the customers and adjust the pre-delivered account numbers to a different widely accepted numbering, for example, one that is accepted for a particular industry. This numbering variant created by SAP should then save the customer the effort needed to do the renumbering themselves. This activity allows you to create these numbering variants for YCOA. Your variants are then made available to customers during initial setup, and they select the variant that best suits their scope before initial system setup. Then the G/L account numbers from the variant are made available in the customer’s system landscape.

1. Create an entry for your numbering variant.
2. Within your variant, enter a standard G/L account number and the corresponding new number that should be included in your variant.
3. Repeat this for all of the affected G/L account numbers.
