In this IMG activity, you maintain the profiles used in interactive sourcing. A profile lists the key components and key resources at each location. Heuristics use the information in a profile to determine the availability of key components and resources at the linked product location.

The following PP heuristics are enabled for interactive sourcing and use the profiles used in parentheses:

  • Planning of Standard Lots (SAP_PP_002)
  • Planning of Standard Lots in 3 Horizons (SAP_PP_004)
  • Plan Standard Lots for Co-Products (SAP_PP_017)
  • Planning of Standard Lots for Conti- I/O (SAP_PP_c001)
  • Interactive CTP heuristic (SAP_CTP_DLG)

To create a new profile, complete the following steps:

  1. On the Maintain Interactive Sourcing Profiles screen, choose New Entries.
  2. Enter a profile name.
  3. Select a location.
  4. Select the periodicity for the display.
  5. Enter the number of periods to be displayed; alternately, select the Periodindicator to set the selected period as the planning horizon.
  6. Save the profile.
  7. In the Dialog Structure screen area, double-click to choose Maintain Profile → Objects in Profile.
  8. Define the required products and resources in the Objects in Profile table and save.

Interactive sourcing profiles are also accessible from the PP/DS view of the product master.

Product A is sourced from location 1 and location 2. One of product A's key components differs at each of these locations: component B and component C respectively. When you run a heuristic on product A for location 1, the interactive sourcing profile derives the exact availability of component B at that location.
