Allows you to activate a merge use case and select a merge combination that defines how subitem data is merged.

In this activity, you can activate a specific merge use case. For the activated use case, you can then select the merge combination that the system applies to reuse and merge the existing subitem data to form an updated result. The system then updates the existing subitems with the new check results according to the selection you have made.

  1. Select the checkbox for activating the merge use case that you want to use.
  2. Select the merge combination in which the existing subitem data is to be reused and merged to form an updated check result.
Example 1:
Scenario
You have activated the merge use case for advanced ATP (aATP) and have selected the merge combination for material/plant/storage.
Process
After you have made this setting, you performed a check on item availability in a sales document and the system produced an updated check result in which the product (that is, material), plant, and storage location of the resulting subitems are the same as the existing ones.
Analysis
The existing subitems were not deleted but are reused and merged to form an updated availability check result. The merging is only possible in this case when the material, plant, and storage location of the resulting subitems are the same as the existing ones. In this case, the data you have maintained on subitem level (for example, material group, Incoterms location or profit center) is also kept. After the check, the system updated the delivery date and the confirmed quantity. In other cases, for instance, if the storage location differs, the system deletes the existing subitems and creates new subitems.

Example 2:
You have activated the merge use case for advanced ATP (aATP) and have selected the merge combination for material/plant.
In this case, the existing subitems and their maintained data are only reused and merged when the material and plant of the resulting subitems are the same as the existing ones.
The existing subitems and their maintained data are deleted and new subitems are created when the result returns a different plant.

Note the following:

  • When you perform a new check and set the merge combination to material only, plant-specific data (such as profit center and tax specification) might be redetermined.
  • The merge case sequences are provided for reference only for the merge combination and are therefore not editable.
