This Customizing activity contains two subtasks:

  • Define Search Query
  • Define Search Filter Settings

In this Customizing activity, you define the queries for searching in the social media channels. You can also define additional search attributes for the social media search query.

Define Search Query

Prerequisites

  • Social media channel code must be entered in the Customizing activity Define Social Media Channel.
  • Search Term ID must be entered in the Customizing activity Define Search Term.

Activities

To define the search query, proceed as follows:

  1. Choose New Entries.
  2. Select Channel Code. This field is mandatory.
  3. Select the Search Term ID. This field is mandatory.
  4. Enter the Language. This field is optional. To make the search query free of language restrictions, leave the field blank. Select the language from the list maintained in the Customizing activity Permitted Languages.
  5. Select the Is Query Active checkbox if the query is active.
  6. Select the Is Scheduling Query checkbox if the query can be scheduled. If this checkbox is not selected, then data is retrieved through streaming.
  7. Enter the Posts per Page Count. This field is optional and is not used in case of DataSift.
  8. Enter the Count of Get Requests. This field is optional and is not used in case of DataSift.
  9. Enter the Query Interval. This field is optional and is not used in case of DataSift.
  10. Exclude from Search Query (Display field)
Note: If this field is left unchecked, then all social media posts with the selected search term are retrieved or else all social posts are retrieved irrespective of the search term. For more information about defining search terms, see Customizing under Cross-Application Components-> Processes and Tools for Enterprise Applications->Social Intelligence->Basic Settings->Define Search Terms.
