VC_TXS_TAX_CODE_MAP - Map S/4HANA Tax Codes to External Tax Codes for Tax Calculation

Allows you to map S/4HANA Tax Codes to External Tax Codes.

In this configuration step, you map external tax codes to SAP S/4HANA tax codes for tax procedures.

By default, the system uses the mapping predefined by SAP. You can see these mappings in SAP Mappings.

If you want to do your own mapping configuration, select the tax procedure for which you want to map S/4HANA Tax Codes to External Tax Codes, choose Custom Mappings, and specify the following data:

  • Tax Jurisdiction
  • Tax Code
  • Country or region
  • External Tax Code

When you specify this data, the system uses it to derive tax codes as described in the scenarios below:

  1. Derivation of S/4HANA tax code:
When the system is processing a payload result from tax service, it uses the external tax code information to determine the S/4HANA tax code.
  1. Derivation of external tax code:
When the system is running a direct calculation payload, it uses the information from the S/4HANA tax code to determine the external tax code for this payload.

Note: This configuration step is not valid for Brazil

You have, for example, specified the following information in the configuration step:

•,,Tax Jurisdiction: leave empty

•,,Tax Code: S0

•,,Ext. Cntry/Rgn Cde: CA

•,,External Tax Code: 700

This means the following, according to the scenarios:

  1. Derivation of S/4HANA tax code:
The system used the information of External Tax Code parameter that, in this scenario is 700,and determined that the tax code (S/4HANA tax code) is S0.
  1. Derivation of external tax code:
The system used the information the user entered for tax code (S/4HANA tax code) that, in this scenario is S0,and determined that the external tax code is 700.
