You can use this customizing activity to define warranty rule checks during validation of claims.

There are three types of validations in customer facing process:

  • Validation on claim submission
  • Formal validation
  • Content validation

For supplier facing process:

* Validation for supplier outbound process

Below are the steps involved in maintaining claim rules:

  • Validation point: These are points where validations are triggered. For customer facing process, the validation points exist for claim submission, for formal checks, and for customer business feedback. For supplier facing process, the validation point exists for supplier outbound checks.
  • Define the rule: These rules are defined for validation checks. Rules can exist, for example for registration date check, damage date, repair data, and so on. These rules are then assigned to rule bucket. Activation status can be assigned to each role (activation statuses are draft, inactive, and active).
  • Create rule bucket: The rules are grouped into buckets, which are in turn assigned to validation points.
  • There will be multiple rules combined under one bucket.

  • Presence of standard validation points

One rule can be assigned to only one validation point.

  • Define rules for warranty validation checks
  • Create buckets and assign the combined rules to buckets
  • Assign buckets to validation points
