Enter factor values for a combination of security ID, factor type, and effective from date.

You enter factor values for securities which have factor based dividend conditions, for example, money market funds.

The factors are communicated for the specific financial instruments and are needed to calculate the amounts of dividends. In detail, the published factor for money market funds determines for a period (normally one day) the accrued dividend or daily dividend of a money market fund. The accrued dividend (which is not paid) / daily dividend for a period (normally one day) is calculated by units * dividend factor.

Make sure you have defined factor types in the customizing activity Define Factor Types.

  1. To enter a new factor value, choose Edit and New Entries.
  2. Enter a security ID, a factor type and effective from date for the factor value.
  3. Enter a value.
  4. Save your entries.
