In this customizing activity, you can set the value of the Signed Form 12BB for claiming exemptions(12BBF) payroll constant. This constant holds the value based on which the system decides whether an employee is mandatorily required to submit the Form 12BB to the employer to claim the tax benefits or not.

  1. Enter one of the below values in the Value field for the payroll constant:
    1. 0 – It is not mandatory for an employee to submit the Form 12BB to the employer along with the investment declaration proofs to claim tax benefits.
    2. 1 – It is mandatory for the employee to submit the Form 12BB to the employer along with the investment declaration proofs to be eligible for all the exemptions provided during the financial year. If the value of this constant is set to 1, the system further checks if the Other Statutory Deductions (IT 0588) infotype, Signed Form 12BB (0007) subtype is maintained or not. If the checkbox for Signed Form 12BB is maintained, then the system considers all the exemptions provided during the financial year and processes the payroll accordingly. If the checkbox for Signed Form 12BB is not maintained, then the system reverses all exemptions provided during the financial year and processes payroll accordingly for the employee.
  2. Save your entry.
