Add custom fields to the field catalog. The field catalog contains the list of fields that are available for use in condition tables for account determination.

In this configuration activity, you can choose which custom fields you want to make available for use in condition tables for revenue account determination. These condition tables specify key combinations of fields that together comprise the criteria which control revenue account determination.

Custom fields that you add to the field catalog can later be used in your new condition tables when you create them. Key users can create custom fields and enable them for revenue account determination in the Custom Fieldsapp.

You can add custom fields that have already been created for the business contexts Sales: Billing Documentand Sales: Billing Document Itemby creating new entries in the field catalog. To make the fields visible in the selection list for the field catalog, you must also enable one of the following business scenarios on header or item level for the custom field in question:

  • Billing Document to Account Determination on Header Level
  • Billing Document to Account Determination on Item Level

Note that only the following types of fields can be added:

  • Text (alphanumeric)
  • Numerical text (composed of numbers 0 to 9, no spaces permitted)
  • Code list (fixed list of user-defined values)
  • Date
  • Checkbox

You can set the field type when you create your custom field in the Custom Fieldsapp. Field types correspond to data types.

You can press F4 to bring up the complete list of fields that you can potentially add to the field catalog.

  • Table numbers 1 to 500 are reserved for predelivered tables that cannot be changed or deleted.
  • Table numbers 501 to 999 are reserved for custom tables that you can create yourself in the Create Condition Tables for Revenue Account Determinationconfiguration activity. Once persisted, you can change or delete these tables.

A standard field catalog containing the fields that are commonly used in revenue account determination is predelivered by SAP. You can use extensibility to add custom fields of your choosing to this predelivered field catalog.

You want to use fields in your custom condition tables that are not contained in the predelivered field catalog, so you add them to the field catalog manually. You can now create new condition tables for revenue account determination that include these fields.
