In this Customizing activity, you can activate authorization checks for the security price type and the reference category.

  • Authorization checks for the security price type
When you have several company codes in one client, they share the market data master data and price tables. With this activity, you can set up an authorization check for security prices based on the price type (and the company code) in the Maintain Security Prices function (transactions FW18/FW17).
This allows independent companies to share common market data with separate price types at the same time.
When this function is activated, the system checks whether the user who wants to display, change, or delete market prices for securities (transactions FW18 and FW17) has the required authorization for the price type. When the user has the authorization to change the values of a price type, then there are no further restrictions for insertion and deletion and the user is able to delete and insert all the values for the permitted security price types. The display of price information is also restricted based on the authorization check. The High/Low Prices section is then valid only for permitted security price types.
  • Authorization checks for the reference category
In addition, you can set up an authorization check for references based on the reference category (and the company code) in the reference maintenance function in transaction management.
References are supported in the money market, foreign exchange, securities, and derivatives areas.
You can use reference categories to represent relationships between transactions in these areas. You can also use the reference categories to link any transactions you choose in these areas.
When this function is activated, the system checks whether the user who wants to create, change, display, undo, or collectively process references (using the transactions TRR6, TBR7, TBR8, TBR9, and TBRL) has the required authorization for the reference category. When the user has one of the authorizations to either create, change, display, or reverse a reference category, the user also has the authorization to display a list of reference categories in the collective processing transaction. From the collective processing transaction, users can process references accordingly based on the authorization that they have.

Authorization objects:

  • Security Price Maintenance - Price Type T_SEC_PRIC
  • Reference Maintenance - Reference Category T_DEAL_REF

With the default setting, authorization checks are not activated.

If you want to use the authorization check, you have to do the following:

  • Activate the function in this Customizing activity.
  • Define the different price types and reference categories needed.
  • Give the necessary authorizations to the users responsible for the maintenance of security prices and references.
