Allows you to enable two-factor authentication for the Approve Bank Payments app.

In this activity, you have the option to enable two-factor authentication for the Approve Bank Payments app. If you enable two-factor authentication, the business user submitting payment batches for processing by the bank will be asked to authenticate their identity using SAP Cloud Platform Identity Authentication (IAS).

In the Authentication Type dropdown list, select from the following options:

  • Authentication is off
When you choose this option, two-factor authentication will not take place when a user submits reviewed payment batches for bank processing.

  • Authentication by IAS is on
When you choose this option, two-factor authentication will take place using SAP Cloud Platform Identity Authentication (IAS) when a user submits reviewed payment batches for bank processing. The user must enter a passcode generated by the SAP Authenticatorapp on their mobile device before the payment batches are submitted.
Additional Prerequisites when using IAS
To use two-factor authentication with SAP Cloud Platform Identity Authentication (IAS), you must also ensure the following:
  • Users must have the SAP Authenticator app on their mobile device.

  • The email used in IAS must be the same as the email assigned to the user in user maintenance.

  • Users must have Two-Factor Authenticating using SAP Authenticating Mobile Application enabled in their IAS user management profile.

  • The communication scenario Finance - One Time Password Integration(SAP_COM_0645) needs to be enabled. Note that the previous points are also prerequisites for the communication scenario.
